Lets meet face to face!
Eye contact isn't guaranteed, but getting to talk to people who appreciate craft at pop-ups and market stalls is one of the things I love most about being an artisan.

FAQs
What wood do you use and where does it come from?
I work exclusively with 100% solid hardwood, no 'wood effect', no peeling veneers, no laminates, no imitation materials. My timber is sourced responsibly through trusted merchants, rehomed from the collections of retiring makers, or through sustainable forestry practices. Over the years I've built up a small collection of rare and beautiful species that I feel genuinely privileged to work with. Every piece comes with the story of its material.
Why no dyes or stains?
Because the wood doesn't need it, and more importantly, because they'd be dishonest. Exotic hardwoods are extraordinary in their natural state, and dyeing or staining hides what makes them special. Every colour you see in a Spectrum Woodwright piece is the wood itself, nothing added.
Do you ship internationally?
Due to import and export regulations around some of the rarer timber species I work with, I'm currently focused on selling within the UK market and don't ship overseas. If you're based outside the UK and interested in my work, feel free to get in touch.
What's the difference between edge grain and end grain, and why does it matter?
Edge grain is the long face of the wood fibre running lengthways, while end grain is the cross-section you see when a board is cut straight across, like slicing a loaf of bread, exposing all the individual fibres as open tubes. End grain is significantly more forgiving on knife edges because the blade passes between the fibres rather than cutting across them, which is why a well-maintained end grain board can last decades.
How do I keep my piece hygienic?
For everyday cleaning, a damp cloth and thorough drying is all that's needed. If you want to disinfect more thoroughly, white vinegar is effective, food-safe, and won't harm the wood. Never use diluted bleach, it will permanently strip the natural colour from your piece and never put it in a dishwasher or leave it soaking in water.
Can I order something bespoke or personalised?
Yes, bespoke commissions and personalisation are both available. Personalisation is free on larger orders, and I always confirm the design with you before anything is made permanent. For fully bespoke pieces I'll sketch or mock up the design before starting so you know exactly what to expect.
Do you offer, corporate gifting, wholesale or B2B?
I'm always open to conversations with shops, restaurants, or design studios who share my values around quality materials and craftsmanship. Each project is priced individually based on timber choice, quantities, and requirements, just 'book a call' to start the conversation.
What are your delivery timescales?
Every piece is oiled, waxed, and hand-wrapped before leaving my Manchester workshop, so please allow a little extra time for finishing. UK orders typically arrive within 2–3 postal days. If you need something by a specific date, message me before ordering and I'll always do my best to make it work.
I'm interested in collaborating — how do I get in touch?
The best way is through the 'book a call' tab, or come talk to me in person at my next market, whether you're a maker, creative organisation, market organiser, or grant body, I'm always open to a conversation and exploring what might be possible.
